Netflix’s ‘assault of the Hollywood Clichés’ slaps at drained movie tropes

movie clichés are very easy to identify. not simply to film enthusiasts, but even to the untrained eye.

Rob Lowe is hosting a new special for Netflix, titled “assault of the Hollywood Clichés,” wherein he and some noted pals will talk about those drained tropes â€" and a lot of extra â€" which are viewed in motion pictures throughout all genres.

“inventory characters, prevalent story beats and handy plot instruments have crept in over time,” Lowe, 57, narrates in a trailer that dropped Friday. “Tonight, we have a good time the clichés which have made cinema what it's today.”

The one-hour documentary drops Sept. 28 and lines many A-listers, administrators and writers breaking down basic tropes.

Stars similar to Andrew Garfield (“The Eyes of Tammy Faye”), Oscar nominee Richard E. supply (“can you Ever Forgive Me?”), Golden Globe winner Andie MacDowell (“brief Cuts”), Robert Englund (“A Nightmare on Elm road”) and Oscar nominee Florence Pugh (“Little women”) â€" plus greater than two dozen different Hollywood insiders â€" will provide their takes on iconic movie tropes and the motion pictures that use them.

The teaser offers clichés reminiscent of movie thrillers’ Ticking Time Bomb and horror motion pictures’ heart-stopping bounce Scare, with “woodland Gump,” “Silence of the Lambs,” “Independence Day” and “Hudson Hawk” among the many memorable flicks featured in the teaser.
